About
I like building leverage, and I care about what it does for the people using it. I’m at my best helping engineers grow into larger scopes while staying close enough to the work to help shape it.
How I lead
I give engineers a lot of autonomy, but not so much that it turns into isolation. My job is to make outcomes clear, make sure people have the context and support they need, and then stay out of the critical path.
When a development gap matters to someone’s career, advice isn’t enough. I look for real work where they can practice the skill and show it, such as owning a cross-team release or presenting outside the team.
In a reorg, people need clarity and connection before they need motivation. I listen first, then set direction.
Before software
Before software, I was a music producer, translating ideas into sounds that made people happy. Building products feels like the same work: translating ideas into something people use.
It’s a big part of why I look for work with a clear connection between what we’re building and something meaningful for people.
